Boone Pride is a 100% volunteer-staffed non-profit civic league. All
of our donations go toward the pride events, this web site, and our
various community "give back" programs.
We'd like to thank all of our sponsors who make our organization and
activities possible. They are on the banner above. Please support these
businesses and organizations! Contact
us if you're interested in sponsoring an event, or need us to help
plan your pride event.

Thank you for taking a look at our sponsorship levels for this year's
Boone Pride event. We are a smaller organization, but are serving a
very active community. We have been serving surrounding counties in
western North Carolina since 2005 through our community events and web
site, and we invite you to join us in this effort.
Your donation supports our mission to: UNITE a visible GLBTIQA
(Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersexed, Queer/Questioning)
community; CELEBRATE freedom and equality of all people; and SUPPORT
the well being and development of the local GLBTIQA community.
Your donation supports BoonePride.org
Boonepride.org is the High Country's leading online Web portal devoted
to uniting and representing the area’s GLBTIQA community. The free, donation-supported
service brings you local news and updates about everything from social
activities to activism. The site also promotes Boone’s annual gay pride
event. In addition, Boonepride.org offers links to other GLBTIQA sources
on the Internet aimed at helping area web surfers in their online explorations.
Readers can also browse through an online list of gay-friendly businesses
in the area.
Your donation supports our pride events.
Pride becomes more meaningful when shared and when enjoyed in the company
of others. Boone Pride seeks to create opportunities for our GLBTIQA
community to join together in a festive, celebratory space.
Acceptance and a sense of inclusion are the real gifts that we give
to one another when we participate. Through our participation, we share
a part of ourselves. As the spirit of cooperation reaches new heights
and as groups of individuals create an enormous "home team," where teamwork
truly takes center stage, it is important to remember the goal that
we pursue: the victory of human acceptance and understanding over the
boundaries of race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation. The intrinsic
value that we obtain as a result of being an active participant in this
celebration of community is priceless.
Your
donation supports our greater community
Each year we make a donation to an area organization to help them better
our community. We also started an award in 2008 to help a student of
the High Country pursue an education beyond high school. Proceeds in
the past have been used to purchase books and DVDs for the Appalachian
Regional Public Library, to help the local PFLAG chapter, and for legal
fees to incorporate Boone Pride, Inc.

Our sponsorship levels are low because we want to be approachable and
affordable to smaller local businesses. Please don't let this dissuade
your decision; your support during our first few years is very important.
It reinforces our work and sends a much needed message to our community.
Thank you for reviewing our materials. Please contact us with questions.
Section 6113 of the Internal Revenue Code provides
that certain tax-exempt organizations that are not eligible to receive
tax deductible charitable contributions must disclose, in any fundraising
solicitation (see below), in "an express statement (in a conspicuous
and easily recognizable format)" that contributions to the organization
are not deductible for federal income tax purposes as charitable contributions.
This provision applies to organizations that are not eligible to receive
deductible charitable contributions and are described in either section
501(c), section 501(d), or section 527. The Service issued Notice 88-120
to provide safe harbors for meeting the requirements of section 6113.
